César Jiménez-Martínez is a PhD Researcher in Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research focuses on issues of media and nationalism, particularly on how several groups struggle for the mediated visibility of different and sometimes contradictory representations of national identity in order to advance their agendas, as well as to how these representations are limited or encouraged by the political economy of the media. His work has been published by journals such as International Journal of Communication, Place Branding and Public Diplomacy and Liinc em Revista. He is currently preparing a chapter for an upcoming edited book about global perspectives on media events as well as another one for an edited collection on nation branding in Latin America.
