Biography

Katie Van Horne, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her primary CLRN work is with the Longitudinal Study of Connected Learning Team. Her research is focused on studying and designing for youth’s interest and identities in formal and informal science learning. She has experience in the design of NGSS-aligned curriculum materials and embedded assessments of learning for high school biology and researching how students’ bring their out of school expertise into science classrooms. In CLRN research, she focuses on how youth in science-related Connect Learning programs organize their science learning across contexts over time.
