Biography
Vivian Shaw is a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on Asian immigrant identities in the US and Japan and the connections between memory with race/gender/class, space, and popular culture. She is also a 2012 HASTAC Scholar and serves on the editorial board of FlowTV and Intersections, two journals at UT-Austin. She previously worked for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in maternal-child health programming and research and earned her B.A. from New York University.
