Ksenia is a doctoral student at University of California — Irvine, specializing in Literacy, Language, and Technology. Fortunate to be interested in all three axes of the specialization, she researches informal learning networks, social technologies, web 2.0 developments, and discourses connected to learners and learning in “new” designed environments. This year, her research projects include popular TV show and boyband fanfiction writing, critical literacies in virtual worlds for young people, digital storytelling, and visualizing causality using touchpad apps. Ksenia holds degrees in International Development, Psychology, and Literature from U.C. Berkeley and has more than three years of research experience working on projects for the U.S. Department of Education, NSF, and UNICEF.
